Up for your consideration is a vintage Portmeirion (of England) cup and saucer in the Botanic Garden pattern. The cup is white with a colorful depiction of the Rhododendron plant and two beautiful butterflies. At the bottom edge of the cup, it reads: Lepidotum Rhododendron. A small number 5 appears to the left of the lettering. The saucer is white with a green wreath of interlocking leaves around the rim.

The cup stands 2 1/2 inches tall and measures 3 3/8 inches across the top; the saucer measures 6 inches across. The pair weighs 16 1/2 ounces.

On the bottom of the cup, there is the old shield mark. It reads: THE BOTANIC GARDEN - circa 1818 - Portmeirion - Susan Williams-Ellis - Made in Britain - 1972. The bottom of the saucer is not marked.

The cup and saucer are in excellent, vintage condition, with no chips, cracks, or crazing. On the cup, there is a tiny dent on the rim under the glaze (see last photo at the 7 o'clock position) and a little divot on the unglazed rim of base (see the next to last photo at the 10 o'clock position).

Please see all of the photos.
