These U-bolt Skid Plates are for 1-3/4" wide leaf springs and stock axles only. Front axle tubes are 2-1/4" diameter and the rear axle tubes are 2-1/2" diameter. The rear will not work with a later model flanged Dana 44 without mods and larger ID u-bolts. They will still work with lift kits using a 1-3/4" wide spring. 

The U-Bolts on a Jeep flatfender are among the most common parts to get hung up on rocks and obstacles from off-road use. Our U-bolt skid plates move the U-bolts up and above the bottom of the leaf spring to avoid hanging up on rocks and other obstacles. 

The U-bolt skid plates are constructed of 3/16-inch laser-cut steel and are made for the stock or lift kit 1-3/4″ wide leaf springs. They also include new shorter U-bolts as well as a raised shock mount. These skids are Rubicon-tested and add serious clearance to the low stance of a stock flatfender.

Our U-bolt skids are available in two different ways: A do-it-yourself weld-together kit, or as complete welded together assemblies. With the un-welded kits, we do all the forming and breaks in the parts; you just need to weld the parts together, remove your old u-bolts and plates and install the new Hi Line Plates.

With the finished and fully welded versions, you simply just need remove your old u-bolts and plates and install the new Hi Line Plates. All mounting hardware is included with both welded and unwelded rocker assemblies, In all cases the U-bollt plates ship raw and uncoated; you will need to paint or powdercoat them once received.

Please Note: The lower shock mount is moved up 1″ from the stock location. You may need to lower your bumpstops down to avoid the shock bottoming out before the axle tube hits the bumpstop. Also Will not fit on a flanged Dana 44 rear axle without mods and different U-Bolts.
