Scarce autographed K. Fisher Zimin Opera postcard photograph of the important Polish baritone, with the inscription to Alexander Teleshov, He who will find the secret how to control himself, will be able to make friends, Moscow, March 10, 1915.

 The Polish baritone (1881-1947) studied at the Warsaw Conservatory and then went to Milan to study with the legendary Vincenzo Lombardi. From 1907-1910 he toured Europe and South America as a concert singer and a guest artist in opera houses. From 1913-1914 he sung in the St. Petersburg People's Opera House. From 1914-1916 he was a leading baritone at the Zimin Private Opera in Moscow and the he transferred over to the Bolshoi for the 1916-1917 season before returning home to Poland to sing in the Warsaw Opera House. He remained as the leading baritone for 20 years at the Warsaw Opera 1917-1937. He also toured in the U.S. and other European countries during the 1920's. During World War II he was relegated to sing in Polish cafes and teach to make ends meet. He later moved to Lublin to teach as there were more teaching opportunities returning to Warsaw in 1945. He spent the next two years teaching at the Conservatory until his death in 1947.

 Dygas is considered to be a hero by the Poles. His repertory encompassed the Italian spinto tenor roles and German heldentenor roles from Canio to Tristan.
