Hard to find, pair (2) of STUPS & TRINE", 10 1/2" tall, jointed vinyl dolls, designed by noted children's book illustrator, Charlot Byj  "Stups", (boy), first produced in 1957, has the incised signature on his head: 2902/Charlot Byj/cprt. W. Goebel and across his shoulders: V (bee)/W. Goebel 1957/Charlot Byj/2902/Made in W. Germany. He has thick, deep dark red, rooted hair and laughing green eyes, long painted lashes, freckles, pug nose and grinning mouth and a "good luck", four-leaf clover, ♣ incised tattoo on his left lower arm. He has a swivel head and joints at his shoulders and hips and wears  green felt pans plaid shirt  His twin sister, "Trine", wears original white panties and adorable flowers dress  also signed (with matching number 2901) head and shoulders and small molded ♥ heart tattoo on one arm. She also has a swivel head and joints at her shoulders and hips. Both are in very good condition with no damages, no fading and no odors and are from a smoke free home. They are hard to find as a pair and make a perfect gift or addition to any doll collection.
