This is a very high priced speciality polymer. It is used almost exclusively where resistance to very high temperature is required and where resistance to petroleum and chlorinated solvents is necessary.
It can be used as a veneer for other polymers; a comparatively thin layer forms an excellent barrier to the solvents mentioned above. It has good flame resistance and is self extinguishing upon removal of the flame source.
