Since 1966, Vans trainers have had the skate market on lock down. Their canvas trainers with gum rubber soles gripped onto boards like nothing else before it. In a very short time, the Vans infamous waffle pattern sole and colourful uppers became synonymous with southern California board riding culture. It was during the 70’s and 80’s that Vans solidified their reputation with legendary skateboarders and original punk rockers, Tony Alva and Steve Caballero.
