A good collector's item !

Avery company's history can be traced back to 1730, with the manufacturing 

by hand of steelyards and beam scales in a small workshop in Birmingham. 

1891 The firm of W. and T. Avery was incorporated as a private company.

Vintage Avery cast metal and brass kitchen scales with weights, marked 

"W&T Avery Ltd. To weigh 4lb" A set of vintage kitchen scales, made by 

them in Staffordshire, England. 

The scales are cast iron, with glass weighing pans. These old fashioned 

scales were once a fixture of every kitchen and they have a vintage charm 

that you just don't get with modern scales.

    cast iron =  2.5Kg (5Lbs 10oz)

    Glass plates = 766g (1Lb 11 oz)

Some worn spots,  re-painted cast iron, replaced new glass plate!

 The rear inside is rusty. There are small chipped spots on the paint

 & glass plate, but well maintained !  

 Excellent Collector's Item !
