Description

This listing is for a lovely tin litho mechanical toy made by Wyandotte. It dates to around 1940. I have shown the manufacturers mark, for folks that are interested. It is in really good condition for this toy. The lightograph is bright and clean, with just a small bit of fading. The white marks across the hen are from my flash. The hen is mechanical - you are supposed to be able to put an egg in the top of her head, and then push her down, and she "lays" the egg. Very leading edge, in those days! There is a Wyandotte mark on the bottom of the hen. The eggs that I am including are small plastic ones, and really don't work well. The original eggs were marbles. THere is one small rust, wear mark on the bottom edge of the nest on one side, about 1 1/2" across on the rolled edge. As a note, please don't use scotch tape on this or other tin toys! It leaves a residue mark that often can't be removed. To remove tape and other residue, try lighter fluid (for lighters, not fire starter), as it will dissolve the tape glue, unless it is too old. This piece measures 7 1/2" by 4 1/2" by 6 1/2" (these are approximate measurements). It is old and original, and marked Made in USA. This is the laying hen; they also sold a rooster and some chicks, but the hen, because she lays eggs, was the most popular!

Shipping

All items are shipped within 24 hours of payment! I try and recycle packaging materials as much as I can. I hate adding more garbage to the environment; if you receive a box from me that has been used before, I am "recycling". I will make sure it's sturdy and the item well packaged. I will ensure your item will arrive in good condition, but the box may not be pretty (or it might be - I have to buy boxes, as well). All shipping within the US is free to you. All my packages are tracked, but if for some reason you don't receive your item or it arrives broken, I will refund your money.
