NOTE: PLEASE SEE UPDATE BELOW.  Offered for purchase is a rare 18th-century porcelain figure of Britannia wearing a chain mail bodice over a floral gown, a cloak and plumed helmet. Holds a shield to right above lion, banner to left. Pierced rococo scroll base scattered with trophies of war. Picked out in enamel colours and gilt. Britannia is one of a pair of Derby figures, the other being that of Athene. Manufactured circa 1765 by the Derby Porcelain Works.  As can be seen in the pictures there is damage to one hand where there was an attempt to repair and/or keep it in tact. [Note our update: Since this earlier description, the damaged hand has fallen off and is lost.  The second to last picture and last picture show this.]  Please see the pictures which serves also as part of my description.  USA and Ebay Global Shipping only.  Thank you for looking.

UPDATE: The damaged hand has broken off in a recent move and we are unable to find it.  The other hand is fine as described.  The price has been significantly reduced due to this.
