French Heirloom Gourd
'Verruqueuse de l'Ile de Maurice'

More than a vegetable, this very particular French heirloom is a beautiful sculpture, a masterpiece of nature
Verruqueuse de l'Ile de Maurice is an rare ancient, edible gourd-like variety (Lagenaria) that can measure up to 45-50cm in length. This amazing gourd, green in color (beige when dried) and cylindrical in shape, is covered with wart-like growths. Besides being perfectly edible, this squash can be dried in a dry and ventilated place to be painted, carved or made into various objects.

Germination
Because this seed has a hard seed coat, we recommend soaking them overnight in lukewarm water. Sow them in a propagator or heated greenhouse. Make sure that the soil has a constant temperature of 22 ° C at the time of sowing and the following week, day and night at sowing depth, so that the germination process runs smoothly and the seed is not affected by fungi and bacteria.
