ARTIST
BIOGRAPHY
Georgette Nivert was born around 1900 in Paris and attended the Ecole des Beaux-Arts. A painter of genre and figures from the French School of the first half of the 20th century, she loved to represent portraits, maternities, reclining female nudes as well as scenes from life Parisian like the French Cancan. Her work initially showed influences of Marie Laurencin in its soft and pastel style approach. As time passed her own style emerged, still soft and somewhat dreamlike but with a greater sense of palette and construction.
