Monopoly money has seen several changes through the years, from design to colour to copyright changes*:

1934: the bills were fairly plain with the denomination in the center. The $50 bill is grey and the $500 bill is salmon.
1935: the same type of money (Darrow bills) was used with the denomination added to each of the four corners as well.
1935: Money was re-designed to the design we know today. This money has 'MONOPOLY' above the centre denomination and 'COPYRIGHT 1935 BY PARKER BROTHERS, Inc. below it. The $100 bill is salmon and the $500 bill is golden orange.
1936: The money looked the same (with the same 1935 copyright) but was shorter and narrower. The colours are less vibrant. It was used until the end of its run in 1951. This is the only set to have this size money.
Early 40s to 2008: The colours changed to the familiar coulours that were in used until August 2008.
1952: The colours remained the same, but the writing above and below the denomination of the bills was removed.
1985: The money was changed to again have the copyright information on the bottom and the the MONOPOLY
® on top, with the difference that the ® is added.
1991: After Hasbro acquired Parker Brothers, the copyright information moved to the lower right side of the bill in the border (The 60th anniversary bills have ©1994 PARKER BROTHERS, the Deluxe edition has ©1935, 1995 PARKER BROTHERS, and in 1996 the information was changed to ©1935, 1996 HASBRO, INC.).
2008: Monopoly has been standardised throughout the world with new colours and MONOPOLY logo across the top.
