An Interesting and Very Rare 19th Century Reverse Painted on Glass Oval Silhouette 
Hare Coursing Hunting Scene.  Depicting a Huntsman with two Lurchers chasing a Hare.

Housed in a most unusual Solid Glass Frame with partial Label on verso which reads:

".....TION OF VELSTOKE"  (Complete Label would probably have read:  
FROM THE COLLECTION OF REVELSTOKE).

Owned by Edward Baring (Barings Bank) 1st Baron Revelstoke.

Edward Charles Baring, 1st Baron Revelstoke (13 April 1828 - 17 July 1897) was a famous British Banker being the senior partner, Director of the Bank of England, etc. and Great-Great-Grandfather of
Diana, Princess of Wales.


In excellent condition for age and such a rare find!
