From an exciting new find out of Tehuilotepec, Guerrero, Mexico comes this outstanding cluster of deep purple amethyst crystals with contrasting orange iron oxide on and included inside of some of the crystals. The town of Tehuilotepec is located in the Municipality of Taxco de Alarcón (in the State of Guerrero), about 70 miles north of Amatitlán and along the same mountain range as the deposits people are more familiar with. It is apparent that this find shares some of the same habits that the typical Guerrero amethysts have, with some of the crystals having smaller terminated crystals built around larger structures. The amethyst are sharp and lustrous. The iron oxide gives it a really nice ametrine look as well in some of the crystals! This is a gorgeous and aesthetic cluster from this limited find made earlier this year!
