Jane and Robert could barely contain their joy with the announcement of their firstborn child, Sarah. The baby girl, who weighed 7lb 3oz, made her big arrival at 5:26am on Tuesday 18th March 1986 (Portsmouth).
Mother and baby are both healthy and well. Jane and Robert would like to thank the staff at St Mary's Hospital for all their efforts. Appreciation also goes to family and friends for the amazing support they've shown, adding "we are just simply over the moon!"

Today is marked in history by a very special event - as family and friends celebrate the birthday of Sarah Jane Marshall.
Born on Tuesday 18th March 1986, in the month that the Japanese Suisei probe flies by Halley's comet, during its sojourn through the inner solar system, to study its UV hydrogen corona and solar wind.
