Jarrah can grow up to 50m tall the trunk is long and straight with few branches, Jarrah can grow to a width of 3m.

It is endemic to the southwest region of Western Australia. 

It makes an excellent hardwood timber with bark that is greyish in colour with furrows running down the trunk. 

Some specimens are up to 500 years old. 

The growth habit of the Jarrah forms a very shady canopy which can inhibit other species from growing underneath.

The Jarrah tree flowers in an amazing display of strong scented white-cream flowers between June-January. 

Bees are attracted to this flower and make great honey from the blossoms.
