Eventually he returned to Chicago, where he took his inspiration from time in the west and honed his art skills at the Frederick Mizen Academy, The Chicago Academy of Fine Arts and the The Chicago Art Institute.  He became the youngest Official Artist of the Marine Corps ever, and after being injured in battle, developed a lifelong friend ship with his idol, Jackson Pollock.  As he continued his career his painting and sculpture received great praise.  He was given the first one man show at the National Cowboy Hall of Fame, his art is in the collections of the Smithsonian, Queen Elizabeth, The Vatican, John Wayne, etc and today his art is enjoyed all over the world by critics and collectors alike.
