FUN COMICS NO. 2 Simon/Kirby Tribute, Paragon Pubs, 1981

WAREHOUSE FIND! Out of print for years, now limited supply back in stock!

From Paragon Publications this is a brand new copy of FUN COMICS NO. 2, a 40 page B&W magazine,  written by comic book historian, Bill Black. From 1969 - 1982 Black helmed Paragon Publications where he created a "universe" of super heroes that appeared in many titles. This is the second issue of FUN COMICS, long out of print, in which Black pays tribute to his favorite comics creator team, Simon and Kirby.  Included are illustrated articles on STUNTMAN (with appearance checklist) and BOY'S RANCH (profusely illustrated). But this book goes beyond a history lesson. Black with artist Dan Reed, recreates a new STUNTMAN story written and drawn in a similar manner to S&K's original concept. The story has a Hollywood madman capture actress Sandra Sylvan and subject her to horror movie tortures. In "Tygra's Revenge," Black presents COMMANDO D, a character that is a direct extension of S&K's one shot wonder, CAPTAIN 3-D. Also appearing is a brief adventure with CAPTAIN PARAGON. Back cover art is by John Byrne of ROG 2000.

This is a like new, unread copy. Warehouse find, rare, limited quantity.
