The LEICA SUMMICRON-M 35mm f/2 ASPH is the ideal lens for life.

If you are looking for a one-lens setup, you need not look no further than this lens.

I have also owned the f/1.4 version, but sold it.

Don't get me wrong - it's a superb lens, but I prefer the f/2 any day.

Here's why.

COMPACT - The f/2 doesn't protrude from the body as much. If you don't need the hood, even better - the lesser unobtrusiveness appears less threatening to strangers on the street.

FILTER SIZE - being able to use smaller 39mm filters means less bulk in your camera bag.

BOKEH - It's good enough if you want it, but if you want bokeh, you should be using a 50mm to begin with. And if you're a street photographer, you're probably shooting at around f/8 so bokeh isn't a top priority anyway.
