Otto Klemperer Beethoven Symphonies Nos.1-9 Overtures Altus 2 SACD JAPAN

Product introduction

A big performance filled with the secrets of Klemperer

An unprecedented complete collection of Beethoven!

Further shock with the new remastered SACD!

ALTUS's best-selling Klemperer's Bateven Chiclus, 2021 new remastered version! The sound and jacket design have been redesigned to bring this masterpiece to the world again. All symphonies and overtures are recorded on two SACD single layers, and a full and readable manual is also posted as it is.

May 29, 1960, when Walter's last concert in Vienna, Mahler No. 4 with the Vienna Philharmonic rang. It was Beethoven Chiclus by Klemperer and Philharmonia Orchestra that opened that night. Yuzo Toyama, who listened to the performance on the first day live, admired "a really great performance" and "Is it possible to conduct in this way?", And Kotaro Yamazaki said, "Complementing each other with the EMI stereo session board, Klemperer It is a big performance that says, "The complete collection of live performances that teaches the depth of art in three dimensions."

About the master used and the new remaster

The master tape of this recording does not exist in the ORF, and the existence of the same sound source could not be confirmed by other broadcasting stations such as INA in the investigation of ALTUS. Therefore, this ALTUS board uses an analog master based on the sound source of Ichetra, which seems to be a copy of the ORF master.

The old SACD (ALTSA-276 / 7) released in 2014 using the same master was mastered with an emphasis on the atmosphere of analog tape, so it was characterized by a deep center of gravity, fertile and powerful sound.

This 2021 new mastering board (ALTSA-2761 / 2) presents another attractive sound that makes full use of the latest digital mastering technology that ALTUS has cultivated in recent years. By adjusting the bass to treble in a well-balanced manner and recreating the sound with natural overtones without compromising the musical expression, it is clear where each of the constituent notes of a wind instrument blow or a stringed chord should be. It is now possible to capture the three-dimensional performance unique to Clemperer, which is arranged as more than ever. In addition, it has a powerful and delicate softness, and the strong performance does not pierce your ears. Whether you have an old version or not, this is a SACD that you should definitely listen to.
