This UK Free Post 'Buy it Now' is for a very rarely available, Hornby A3, Flying Scotsman USA loco body from the R2953 Limited Edition, 'Flying Scotsman USA' Train Pack.
As the pictures show, the bell and the bell holder are missing, as are the rear cab doors. The cowcatcher is cracked and as a result is not longer straight, and the piece of metal trim which fits below the body's waistline on the left side does need fitting back correctly. There is also a crack in the pipework on the left side of.

This body is very finely detailed and was made especially for the loco in the train pack which was brought out to celebrate the 1969 tour of USA by 'Flying Scotsman'. The bell, 'cow catcher' and front knuckle connector were added to the loco to comply with US railroad regulations.
This body features sprung buffers, plenty of 'brasswork, a partially glazed cab, separately applied boiler hand rails, adjustable roof vents and of course that masterpiece of a cab interior. The cab interior truly is a work of art and a real credit to Hornby. So many much more costly locos which I have had don't have anything like this level of cab detailing, and yet they can be more than twice the price.
