Because it's reliable and no performance degradation over time.  Others that use cheap OTG cables with cheap external USB drive (pretty much everyone else) will eventually have menu slow down problems.  Also, the cables and dongles will lose connection over time.  This will result in memory corruption.  My upgrade will never disconnect accidentally nor have any type of connection problems or slow downs in menus! 

The technical aspect: Others that use external mod rely on at least 3 connections and work over USB. This creates massive amount of fail points because micro USB ports are flimsy.  If you've ever had an old android phone, you know what I'm talking about.  The SNES USB port was meant for power connection only, not data.

My internal mod is directly connected to the system board and only 1 connection that utilizes a high quality card socket. The system has DIRECT ACCESS to the memory card and data does not need to be converted to USB and back. This means it is the most reliable and have the fastest access possible! 

I've even had customers who purchased external modded systems then come and purchased from me because their external mod failed!
