Vintage Rye Pottery Fish Design Bowl - Early Cole Period - Jim Elliot - c.1954

 
A wonderful Rye Pottery bowl thrown by Jim Elliot and dating to the early Cole brothers period. The bowl has a lovely abstract hand painted design to the outside and a superb stylised fish design to the inside. To the base is the blue ink stamp mark used from 1954 to 1956 as well as the impressed throwers mark for Jim Elliot. A fantastic early example of these increasingly collectable wares.

Condition

 The piece is in good vintage condition with some expected minor firing flaws. There is a pinhead size loss to the glaze  to the bottom of the rim. A fine opportunity for the collector of these wares.
