MAD-1 / Iheal PEMF electromagnetic therapy can be used for healing, tendonitis, RSI, strains and sprains, and reducing pain and inflammation associated with arthritis.

The MAD-1 unit provides sustained healing treatments, for up to 12 hour per day, and is attached to the skin via the hypoallergenic self adhesive pads that come with the device. These sustained treatments facilitate rapid healing and alleviation of pain and inflammation. The unit runs on two CR2025 lithium coin cell batteries, which are inexpensive and easily replaced, providing about 200 hours of therapy on each set of batteries.

Your MAD-1 unit comes with 48 hypoallergenic adhesive patches for attaching the unit to any area of the body.

What does the MAD-1 (iHeal) do?

The MAD-1, or (HoMedics I-Heal) is a tiny, sophisticated micro-electronic therapy unit. The MAD-1 generates a very specific Pulsed Electromagnetic Wave that induces change on the cellular level, in tune with your bodies own natural cellular functions. This type of PEMF also produces localized vasodilation which provides and increase in blood supply to the treated area, which is particularly important when treating tendon injuries.

There have been numerous clinical trials that prove that this type of PEMF therapy speeds up cell regeneration, including a recent NASA study that found that this form of sustained, low frequency PEMF, reduced cell regeneration times by up to 75%.

PEMF also reduce muscle pain and inflammation and pain around arthritic joints.

Is the MAD-1 the same as the HoMedics I-Heal?

Yes, they are identical. The MAD-1 was licensed to HoMedics who sold it under the brand name of iHeal. The iHeal has full CE approval as a type IIa medical device.

Is is safe?

Yes, completely. The MAD-1 produces no harmful emissions or detrimental side effects. The wave produced by the MAD-1 is only a tiny percentage of the recommended safe limits for the human body. However, we do not recommend you use the MAD-1 if you are fitted with an electronic medical implant, such as a pacemaker, as there is a very slight chance that the MAD-1's emissions could interfere with such a device if it was placed in very close proximity to it. PEMF therapy should not be used during pregnancy.

Is it the same as TENS?

No. TENS (transcutaneous electronic nerve stimulation) simply applies an electric shock to your skin, which you can easily feel. This electric shock numbs your nerves ,thereby temporarily relieving pain.

PEMF (pulsing electromagnetic Field therapy) promotes rapid healing of damaged or inflamed tissues thereby reducing pain. Your body cannot “feel” a pulsing electromagnetic wave.

I originally bought this to shore up my Achilles, which I injured a year ago running. It made a real difference straight away.

Then recently I hurt my shoulder throwing something heavy into a skip. Hurt it properly - unable to touch my nose with my left hand, unable to brush my hair, pick anything up from the floor, etc. Properly crippled, & I am normally extremely active & not easy to sideline. After 2 days of being unable to do anything, & after 2 sleepless nights because of the pain, it occurred to me to try the iheal. That morning, I was still totally crippled, stuck the iheal on & by lunchtime it had eased a lot & by the afternoon, it was pretty well there. I took it off, put it back on last thing at night & the next day it was all systems go again. Nothing short of a miracle as I was thinking I might have done myself a proper mischief.

The latest thing I've tried it on is my back. I've ridden for 40 years & did a cross country training day at the w'end which involved a lot of jumping. Since then, I've had sciatica which has been mild but annoying & enough to keep me awake for the last few nights. Tried the iheal, not expecting much as tbh it's probably my battered old discs giving out...and slept through the night. One side (the side I put it on) is dramatically better today, so I'm trying it on the other side.
