Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) - are fitted to todays modern vehicles & are designed to catch soot, carbon & ash in the exhausts.
As with any other filter they need to be emptied regularly to maintain efficient performance levels. The DPF cleaning process is called Regeneration.
The collectted soot, carbon & ash is burnt off at high temperatures whilst vehicles is driven for 30 minutes or more at speeds greater than 40mph at 2000-2500 rpm.
Sometimes the filter is simply too blocked for this for this regeneration process to take place.
Simply Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaner (DPFC) is Non-Flammable, free of metal and is designed to loosen soot, carbon and ash deposits in the particulate filter and help flush these particles out restoring the particulate filter to its full working capacity. Simply DPFC can also be used to help clean the *EGR Valve system that may have also become blocked with soot particles.
DIRECTIONS
1. Ensure exhaust system is cold prior to starting work
2. Remove the temperature and/or pressure sensor from the DPF exhaust pipe
3. Attach the special dispenser tube into the DPFC aerosol and insert into the DPF exhaust pipe where sensor was removed from.
4. Direct the tube towards the DPF
5. Spray the entire contents of the DPFC into the DPF
6. Replace everything previously removed in step 2
7. If the vehicle is not in limp mode and starts as normal then take vehicle for a test drive for a minimum of 30 minutes at a speed of 40mph or above while maintaining RPM of between 2000-2500.
8. After test run, should the DPF not regenerate then seek advice from a professional as your filter may be too blocked and required replacing.
** To clean EGR valve system, remove from vehicle spray DPFC into EGR valve system (avoid electronic connections) leave for approx 30 minutes to saturate then brush out and wipe clean.
