Antique Amazing Large Silver-Plated ELK Head/Foot Stirrup Cups/Goblet (I.72/MC).
This is a sale for an absolutely stunning, silver-plated, Elk Headed/Footed Stirrup Cup made around the mid-1940's.
This item has a delightful Elk shaped head/foot, engraved, relief repousse workmanship and the lines curve down to a top/bottom edge.
This is a fine, sturdy piece and in its original condition. There is age-related patina.

The term Stirrup Cup is a "parting cup" which was often given to guests when they were leaving and their feet were already in their stirrups.
The Cup is also found to give participants a traditional drink of port or sherry prior to a traditional fox hunt.
This item measures approximately 14.5 x 10.5 with a diameter of 8.5 cms. It is a weighty piece.
