Here is a starter motor for a Moto Guzzi T3 California.

This starter is in very clean condition.

You will note that there is no starter solenoid with this motor. Also, someone has wrapped insulation tape around the joint where the end cap goes - see picture. Presumably to protect it from an ingress of water.
