27mm Ceramic Transducer (Sounder/Pickup) - MAPLIN QY13 Piezo Xducer 27/4.2

An unused Maplin Ceramic Transducer in its original bag with stock label attached. Purchased many years ago for a project but never got used. 


What is it? Piezo-electric ceramic disc are normally used as a small sound-producing device when fed with an audio tone, the applied voltage causes the disk to distort and produce a sound.

The disc can also be used in the reverse method so that distortion of the disc, by mechanical stress will cause the disc to produce a small voltage proportional to the degree of distortion.

If soldering wires directly to the disk, you must use a low temperature iron.
