Blue Mountain Swallowtail (Papilio ulysses)

Wingspan: 4 - 4 1/2 inches

One of the most popular butterflies among butterfly collections and art pieces. The ulysses is difficult to photograph, its colors change a little from a light bright blue to a darker, rich blue depending on type and angle of lighting.

Origin: Indonesia.

  Framed in the U.S. and all specimens are imported legally according to U.S. Fish and Wildlife regulations.  Butterfly Utopia has been framing butterflies and shipping them since 2001!

About Riker Mounts: Cotton filled chipboard frames with a glass top and hanger on back. The butterflies are not glued, they are gently pressed against the glass by the cotton. Riker mounts are not sealed and can be easily opened to extract or reposition the butterflies by removing 2-4 pins. The butterflies will last for many, many years as long as you keep them out of direct sunlight.
