LILY COLLINS & EMILY IN PARIS; Article: Why We Love Mind Candy: Why are an awful lot of people bingeing an awful lot of terrible TV?

During lockdown, we have spent a lot of time glued to our televisions, and the streaming sites have been our enablers. They provide some vital comfort TV — but we need more than that from them. (Interesting 2½-page article analysing why audiences love shows in the mould of Emily in Paris; Lily Collins also stars on a radiant Parisian cover page)

Other Articles

EMILY MORTIMER (Relic); Interview: Making You Sob as You Shudder: Emily Mortimer interview: why she decided to make horror flick Relic.

The Hammersmith-born actress Emily Mortimer makes for an exceedingly likeable screen presence. Radiating goodness, she often pops up in films that revel in a twee vision of England, such as Woody Allen’s Match Point and as Jane Banks in Mary Poppins Returns. It is no surprise, then, that she doesn’t like horror movies. (Candid 1-page interview with a dramatic shot of Emily in the film Relic)

NICOLE KIDMAN & HUGH GRANT (The Undoing); Review: Pick of the Week: The Undoing: Monday, Sky Atlantic, 9pm.

After the chill affluence of Big Little Lies, Nicole Kidman takes another trip into the world of the dysfunctional rich with this psychological thriller. Written by David E Kelley and based on the 2014 novel You Should Have Known, by Jean Hanff Korelitz, it begins as Grace Fraser, an expensive New York therapist, prepares her physician husband, Jonathan (Hugh Grant), for their next social whirl: dinner with her father (Donald Sutherland), a fundraising auction for their son’s exclusive school. Yet there are unsettling cracks in this moneyed perfection: a new “scholarship” mother at the school gates; inexplicable nudity; unreturned phone calls and worrying absences, all slowly leading towards a grisly tragedy..(Short, but interesting, ¾-page review of The Undoing starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant; displays a large image of Nicole and Hugh)

DIZZEE RASCAL (E3 AF); Interview: Man in da Corner: Dizzee Rascal interview: on his latest album E3 AF and finding a new mentor in Noel Gallagh.

The rapper tells us about his voyage of rediscovery. (Excellent 1½-page interview with a cool picture of Dizzee)
