Offered is a scarce and desirable Hadrian hemidrachm with the Pharos Lighthouse. Struck in Alexandria  132-133 AD on a 28mm  bronze flan weighing 12.7 gm. Obv. Bust of Hadrian facing right, while the legend has been worn away as shown. Rev. Pharos lighthouse surmounted by two Tritons with blowing trumpets. This is the rare issue with the lighthouse standing alone with its door open, not the usually seen drachms with Isis holding a sail in front of a much smaller lighthouse. Research indicates that only two reverse dies of this type existed, making this coin a very low mintage issue even among the fairly scarce "Lighthouse" issues. In the beautiful condition shown with a warm brown patina and although obviously worn there is unusually nice detail on the all-important lighthouse. Noted for featuring a "realistic" image of one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Purchased in 2014 on ebay from "Trustedcoins.com" with Ilya's original COA included. Your satisfaction is guaranteed since if you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason , I will refund the initial shipping fee and also pay the return shipping cost for a truly risk-free purchase. NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING.
