This listing is for a fine and rare Arts and Crafts Period Bronze Sculpture of an oriental Rug / Carpet With fringes / tassels going around, A pitcher / ewer and a single shoe atop.

Very thick and heavy piece.

It looks as though in addition to being cast , it has been hand hammered. the surface of the field of the rug has the Arts and Crafts hand hammered look and feel.

The detail is exceptionally warm . Great Patina.

Footed, round ball feet, 2 of 4 of which are unscrewed and missing. Should not be an impossible task to find feet replacements.

The field of the rug has six holes all about the same area where the shoe and ewer are located, one screw holding the shoe covering two of the holes and one screw holding the ewer and covering in, which leaves 3 open holes. I am not sure what else would have been there? Possibly another matching shoe?

So very orientalist in theme as so very of the period.

Made of real bronze.

Unmarked or cannot locate any markings. Suggestion has been made that it is probably Austrian in origin.

The rug measures about 7 3/4 inches square and the ewer extends 3 inches in height overall.

Never have seen anything like it.

You won't see another like it.
