Circa 1940s black & white postcard shows the Loew's State Theatre at 412 G Street in Eureka, California in Humboldt County. Opened in 1920 as the Sweasey Theatre, Loew's acquired it in 1921 and renamed it to Loew's State Theatre. It was renovated in the 1930s and 1940s after fire damage. The movie palace closed in 1973. The marquee lists Vera Gordon in "The Greatest Love" (released in 1920), American Follies and Honey Maids. Postmarked 1944; very good condition with some corner and edge wear as seen in the photo.
