Custom Gateway Sleeper Gaming PC i7 16GB RAM GTX 750 Ti 240GB SSD ITX SFF Win10

For sale is this one of a kind, custom built passion project of mine. This PC started out in life as a late 2004 model Emachines E-2100 slim desktop with a 40GB HDD at 5400rpm, a 2.6 GHz Celeron single core and a 256MB stick of DDR RAM at 333MHz all running the recently released Windows XP. Later in the PCs life it wound up at a secondhand tech store where it was upgraded to 1GB of DDR RAM and sold to my father who used it to run his MAME arcade machine for years. Motherboard failure led to this PC sitting in the closet collecting dust.

I began the process of transforming this beast in 2019, with the goal to turn it into a budget sleeper PC that I could take with me on longer trips away from my main PC. This PC posed an interesting challenge to build in. For one, it's not only a small form factor machine, but also only fits ITX components, so sourcing parts was a challenge.

The motherboard in this PC is an Intel DQ67EP. This is paired with an Intel stock cooler, i7-2600, and 2x 8GB (16GB total) DDR3 RAM.

Graphics are handled by an MSI GTX 750 Ti 2GB with DVI and HDMI.

Storage is a Samsung SATA SSD salvaged from an OEM PC.

And there is a Dell 250W power supply to keep everything running.

Additional features include a Blu-ray drive, Multi-Card reader, front and rear audio ports, a total of 8 USB ports (2x in the front, 6x in the back, including 2x USB 3.0), and an additional cooling fan in the chassis.

As this is a fully custom built system in an application it was never designed for, there are some quirks.

•The case is not perfect, it has some deeper scratches and the plastic trim piece on the top has a broken clip (stays in place)

•Temperatures aren't great, the CPU is borderline throttling despite the extra fan. I never got around to replacing this with a better or ducted cooler.

•Motherboard is missing the IO shield, but it does help with airflow.

•CMOS battery gives an error on first boot and the PC acts like it's disconnected, but after a restart it boots fine. I have not investigated this issue.

This is a turn key sleeper PC that could be enjoyed AS-IS, with no extra work needed. It looks great in a retro setup or just as a super slim gaming desktop. Ideally, it could use a low power CPU (e3-1260L or similar) and/or a better cooler.

This is my favorite PC that I've ever built, but I'm moving on to another project and need the funds to buy parts.
