Antique Letter Opener Knife w/ Animal Horn Handle; Up for sale is a letter opener with an iron knife blade and animal horn handle, dated as early as 1860 in the American Civil War era (1861-1865).

The knife part of the letter opener is not sharpened and attracted to magnets, indicating that it is made of iron. The handle part is made of animal horn which is likely from an elk antler.
