This is a hard to find & Rare 1968 New Orleans Jazz Festival Doubloon (coin) made of a nickel metal ( not typical aluminum) about the size of a half dollar. . It  all features Pete Fountain  on the back holding his clarinet. The rarity is because the Jazz Festval Doubloon ( coin ) was minted 2 years before the  first “Official” Jazz Festival was held  in 1970 ( I was there) !! This Jazz Festival  from 1968 was held at the Municipal Auditorium ( inside) and was not widely attended. The Jazz Festivals from 1970 ,and still going on to this day, are all held in an outdoor setting to acccommodate the very large crowds that attend.  I can’t remember how I came into possession of  1968 coin but I personally owned it for all these years. The 1968 Jazz Fest is in mint condition considering its age and it is still in its original packaging I put it in over 55 years ago.  Please check the photos and contact me with any questions. Thank you for your interest. Shipping by Ebay's ground advantage mail or you can make arrangements to pick up this coin to save the shipping costs but in the Henrico, VA area only.
