This coin is from my personal registry grade nickel collection. 1966 was the second year of an attempted break away from proof coins and the use of mint marks. The SMS coins were struck to replace proofs and all coins were struck without mint marks in an effort to reduce collectors' interest. This is also the first year that the initials of Felix Schlag were added below Jefferson's bust. This can be a difficult coin to find in this grade. The fields are highly mirrored providing a terrific contrast for the cameo devises. The result is stunning eye appeal. The holder has the traditional brown label. A signature will be required for delivery. The coin pictured is the one being offered. Thank you for looking.
