Sheaffer 440 "quasi-Imperial" from the 1970s fountain pen. New old stock, never used. Red with fine nib.

Type  Fountain Pen ..... almost 50 years old but fresh and in mint condition.

Product Name  Sheaffer 440 White Dot. This is one of the quasi-Imperials, which have the same style cap and inlaid nibs as the higher end Imperials and PFMs of the same era. It's virtually the same pen as the 330, with a brushed steel cap.

Manufacturer and Year  Sheaffer USA - early 1970s. The original sticker still visible on the caps says Sheaffer 440 and the nib size.

Measurements  Fountain pen is 5-1/8" capped, 4-1/2" un-capped, 5-11/16" posted. The section is .41 inches at the widest point, where most people grip.

Filling System  Accepts Sheaffer cartridges or Sheaffer converters. It ships with a piston converter installed. Both the old style squeeze converters and the modern piston converters fit and work well in this pen. 

Color  Red plastic body and brushed steel cap. Steel or chrome plated trim. 

Nib  Fine steel inlaid nib. "Short Diamond" inlay style. Each nib is adjusted and tuned before shipping.

Condition  This pen is new old stock from the 1970s. It has never been used and never been inked. There are no scratches or handwear, and no dings or dents. The fountain pen is perfect. It will be shipped in a Sheaffer gift box. 

Not returnable if the fountain pen has been filled with ink.
