Josef Hospodka Sklo Union Chribska Glassworks Cased Ribbed Flared Rare Vase 50's Period Labeled.

Chřibská, was founded in 1414, in the town of Chřibská, which was originally part of Bohemia, and became part of Czechoslovakia in 1919. The factory was known as the oldest glassworks in Europe, Josef Hospodka joined the factory, at first running the glassmaking school at Chřibská, and then becoming head designer at Borske Sklo and Chřibská from 1958-1970. During this period, Josef produced many organic, sculptural blown glass designs, which proved very popular!

This is one of his tallest, rarest, most unique vases, very heavy, gorgeous design, ultra-functional to this day a conversation piece! 

No chips, cracks, damages, repairs, as it left the Glassworks by Josef in mid 50's period. 

3 Flared top 6x6x5, 11.5 inches tall, 7 inches deep, 6 inches at widest point, 6 dramatic ribs from flared down to base of 2.75 inches, polished pontil, 
period correct label w-1414 on it!
