Rare Antique Amsterdam Panoramic Map M Merian 1659 Copper Engraved

Available is this hard to find panoramic map by Matthaus Merian.  The piece is made of two copper engraved joined plates, with an overlap seam in the center.  It is a hand tinted piece, the bottom has a legend with important buildings.  Originally from the Topographia Germaniae Inferioris, Frankfort, 1659???   The bottom of the image area on the right reads ?M Merian Fleck PV 62?.  The left side reads ?Conr. Buno Delineaut? (Conrad Bruno).  The engraving plate impression is 14 inches by 40 and the overall visible area of the paper is 21.5 by 51 inches.  The image are from the black outside border is 12.25 by 38 5/8 inches.  The paper is yellowed, with some small areas of foxing.

Please note the rippling along the edges near the frame.  Shadows and glare can be seen from the trees behind in the plexiglass.  Shadows do not appear on the print.  The paper margin has a darker spot and a fold on the bottom left margin as seen in photo 6.  This has not been viewed out of frame.

There are references to a few other of this same print online - however all of them are smaller and measure approximately 8 by 28 inches.  I can find no reference to another print this size - and am not an expert on antique maps.  It is an engraving on thin laid paper, it is not printed by modern means and there are no references to a latter printing that I can see.  However, the difference in size should be noted.

An estate sale find, exact age and history are unknown.
