                                                                                                          RHC # 1544 ENTRY LOCK w/DOUBLE CYLINDERS & KEYS DOUBLE THUMB SET NICE (16898-7)

Vintage:  circa 1890-1920: READING HARDWARE, works fine, entry mortise lock with with two new Security Guard cylinder locks and three keys.  This is the type that was made for a thumb latch on each side of the front door, does NOT accommodate a turn knob.

The lock is reversible.  Heavy brass faceplate with body of the lock clearly maker marked RHC one of America's many high quality manufacturers of builder's hardware during the second half of the 19th Century and early 20th Century. 

Dimensions as follows:

FACEPLATE: Brass face plate is marked VASSAR and measures  7 1/8" long, 1 1/8" wide, 1/8" thick. 

BACKSET: The back set (the measurement from the front edge of the brass faceplate to the center of the cylinder lock hole) is 2 3/4".   

BOX: Box is 3 5/8" deep from the front edge of the brass face plate to the back of the box and it is 5 1/4" top to bottom. 

SCREWS:  Screws are on 6 1/2" centers. 

DOOR HANDLES: The lock is made for a thumb press latch handle to be operated on both sides of the door which is why it does not have a knob post.

CYLINDERS: We have included a two new cylinders with three keys. 

Very clean inside and out, no rust, functions very well, heavy duty and with keys! Fully restored and working perfectly.
