E-coating is a superior electrostatically applied finish that can withstand 400 hours of salt water exposure without rusting. This is especially important on the mounting faces of the hat where it touches the hub flange and the back face of the wheel. Any rust accumulation in these areas can cause installed lateral run out issues. Many StopTech rotors feature Power Alloy metallurgy. StopTech collaborates with foundry partners to increase the molybdenum or carbon content of castings in specific vehicle applications, as well as to carefully control the cooling rate during production to meet hardness and tensile strength targets.
