"INVASION FORCE" by Nicolas Trudgian is a signed and numbered limited edition print from an extremely small edition of ONLY 800 prints.  This is one of a collection of Cameo size prints, published as a set of eight limited editions, reuniting eight famous pilots with the classic aircraft they each flew in combat during World War II.  It is completely SOLD OUT at the publisher.

America produced a massive variety of combat aircraft during WWII, many of which became legends by the end of the war. These aircraft flew in every combat role and in every Theater in the hands of American pilots, and many were operated also by pilots of other Allied Air Forces under their own flags. One such legendary American aircraft, already in service at the outbreak of war, and which continued to fly throughout the war, is featured here.

Almost every major invasion that took place in Europe in World War II began with para drops, and in almost every case the C-47 was the aircraft that delivered these elite fighting troops. Few C-47 pilots had more combat experience than Sid Harwell, seen flying his Dakota 3X-B in this typical action scene, dropping airborne troops into occupied Europe soon after D-Day. No matter what resistance he encountered, the good C-47 pilot put his aircraft right over the Dropping Zone, every time.
