It could also affect you if you have gallbladder disease, are taking blood thinners, medications for diabetes, or stomach acid reducers. Drinking excessive amounts of turmeric tea can also cause circulatory problems. Pregnant women are advised to control consumption as it could stimulate the uterus.

Very high quantities of cinnamon may be toxic, so, as a general rule, it's best not to consume excessive amounts of cinnamon tea for extended periods of time. The NCCAM (National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine) indicates that cinnamon is generally safe for most people in amounts of up to 6 grams of cinnamon daily for 6 weeks or less.

As with any tea that is new to you, watch for any side effects you may be experiencing. If your nose runs, your eyes itch and water, or you break out in a rash after drinking cinnamon tea, you may have an allergy to cinnamon.

Preparation: We recommend using 1 tea bag per 8 oz of water at a full rolling boil (212°F) and steeping anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes. Teas prepared from light, delicate blossoms or leaves require shorter steeping times than more hearty herbs. If you prefer a stronger brew, we suggest using multiple tea bags.
