Diagnosing Common Hot Tub Problems
The rear of a hot tub or whirlpool bath wall is sealed by the body of a tub jet. The jets diffuse water and air into the bath generating bubbles. After a time, the jets may fail to function normally due to the presence of lint. Cleaning the jets and ridding it of dirt will enable it to work as intended.

Below are some other more issues that can happen to whirlpool bath jets.

Dripping Hot Tub Jets
Though uncommon, drips can originate from a hot tub or whirlpool bath jet. It occurs around the area where the flex pipe and water pipe meet, or where the flex pipe and air line are connected. Another reason for leaking is a loose rubber seal. This seal is secured onto the jet by a fixing nut. Over time, the seals will wear out and the fixing nut can break.

In case the fixing nut in an air bubble jet is broken, know the hole size of your tub jets, including the length and diameter of the needed replacement nut.

Among other possible sources of a dripping whirlpool tub are the valves, blower, pump, and heater. Leaks can be perceived if the tub is losing more volumes of water than usual. Checking the sources stated above is crucial to immediately tackle the leakage.

Air Locks in Your Hot Tub
When you turn the jets on, water and air should flow through. In the event it does not, this may be due to air confined inside the jets. This normally happens while you are draining and refilling the tub with water. An empty tub can cause air to enter the jets and be entrapped within it. Depending on the extent of trapped air, the acuteness of an air lock will differ.

To resolve a whirlpool bath or hot tub air lock, release the trapped air by opening the jets and turning it on high for 15 seconds to let the air out. This method is just one of the methods for clearing air from a tub jet.
