Here we have a lovely antique figurine of Discobolus. Discobolus is a Greek sculpture created by Myron said to be around 460-450BC and shows an Olympian throwing a discus. This is a good quality model made of some kind of cast metal - I do not know if it's bronze or something else (I would lean towards not bronze) - marked Italy to the base. It is very reminiscent of artefacts picked up on the Grand Tour. I would imagine this dates from the early to mid 20th century. This would make a lovely display item in a cabinet or on a desk. Looks wonderful as is but could be mounted to a piece of marble if preferred. It measures approximately 5.5 inches by 3.25 inches by 1.75 inches weighing just under 500g's. This is the only one on eBay so get it while you can! If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Please see my other items where I have a good selection of decorative antiques and other interesting items.

Please add me to your favourites list and take a look at my other items as I have hundreds that will be listed daily in the up and coming weeks.

Please Note;

I use new & recycled materials to ensure that your item arrives to you safely. I pack all of my items the best I can which you will see from my feedback. However, as with fragile items there is always a risk, items such as Antiques/Collectables, glass, ceramics, paintings etc are not insured for damage by any of the postal services, with the exception of The Royal Mail. This is why I offer a choice of postage options, so you can choose your preferred postage method. Collection in person is also available on all of my items. In the unfortunate, and unlikely event that something does get damaged or goes missing with the Royal Mail then I will do my very best to assist you in making a claim. I always obtain proof of postage for all of my sent items. Sadly I cannot be held responsible for the postal services poor handling of parcels. Here are a few links regarding Royal Mails compensation policies and how to make a claim if necessary.
