This auction is for a Limited Signed Presentation Copy First Edition volume of "Lord John Film Festival."  Published in 2006 although some signatures had been collected by Herb Yellin previously (this project was over many years).  Has many photos of the signed posters Herb Yellin had collected himself, and essays by industry luminaries.  Herb Yellin was a prolific poster collector (as a hobby) and a film buff, not to mention a publisher of countless rare and limited books through the Lord John Press and other publishers .

This copy was from the estate of Herb Yellin himself (check my other listings for other books from the estate).  To my knowledge ONLY the very rare Presentation Copies have the One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest cover labels; other copies (even those with more signatures) had The Godfather.  HAND SIGNED by 34 writers, actors, etc. or friends of Herb Yellin like President Gerald Ford (who he'd published a few books for); these are **authentic signatures** on the front and rear endpapers, not the signatures shown in the poster illustrations which are photos of Yellin's personal movie poster collection.  Signed by:

Robert Bloch – Author of many novels and short stories, including the book “Psycho” which Alfred Hitchcock based his film on.  Winner of the Hugo Award and the Bram Stoker Award.

Ray Bradbury – Famed author and screenwriter.  Among his most famous works is “Fahrenheit 451.”  The New York Times called him "the writer most responsible for bringing modern science fiction into the literary mainstream".  Winner of a Pulitzer Citation.

Janet Leigh – Actress and Dancer, winner of a Golden Globe and nominated for an Academy Award.  Mother of Kelly Curtis and Jamie Lee Curtis.  Her films include “Psycho”, “The Manchurian Candidate”, “Little Women”, and “Touch of Evil.”

Lizabeth Scott – Famed actress in movies and television.  Known for her smoky voice, and considered the most beautiful face of film noir.  Films include “Dead Reckoning” and “Too Late for Tears.”

Harry Crews – American novelist, playwright, and essay writer.  Books include “A Feast of Snakes”, “Car”, and “The Gospel Singer.”

Mike Leigh – English writer and director.  Academy Award nominee.  Films include “Life is Sweet”, “All or Nothing”, and “Naked.”

Jeanne Moreau – Award-winning French actress, director, and singer.  Films include “Elevator to the Gallows”, “The Bride Wore Black”, and “Jules et Jim.”

President Gerald R. Ford – 40th Vice President and 38th President of the United States.

Eva Marie Saint – Academy Award winning and Golden Globe winning actress.  Best known for “On the Waterfront”, “North by Northwest”, and “A Hatful of Rain.”

John Updike – Pulitzer Prize winning novelist and poet.  One of only three authors to win the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction more than once.  Best known for his “Rabbit” series including “Rabbit is Rich” and “Rabbit at Rest.”

John Frankenheimer – Emmy and Golden Globe winning director.  Among his films are “The Manchurian Candidate”, “Black Sunday”, “Ronin”, “French Connection II” and “Seven Days in May.”

Bruce Beresford – Academy Award nominated director.  Best known for “Breaker Morant”, “Tender Mercies”, and “Driving Miss Daisy.”

Gena Rowlands – Academy Award nominated actress, who won four Emmy awards and two Golden Globes.  Married to John Cassavetes.  Films include “A Woman Under the Influence”, “Gloria”, and the made-for-TV “An Early Frost.”

Louise Fletcher – Academy Award winning actress.  Best known as Nurse Ratched in “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” for which she became only the third woman to win an Academy Award, BAFTA Award, and Golden Globe for the same performance.  Other films include “Firestarter”, “Brainstorm”, and “Flowers in the Attic.”

Jules Dassin – Director, among those black-listed during the McCarthy era.  Best known for “Rififi”, “Brute Force”, “Never on a Sunday”, and “The Naked City.”

Richard Crenna – Emmy Award winning American actor.  Best known for roles in “Wait Until Dark”, “The Flamingo Kid”, the first three “Rambo” films, and “The Sand Pebbles.”

Alex Rocco – Emmy Award winning actor.  Best known for his role as Moe Green in “The Godfather”, he also appeared in such television shows as “The Famous Teddy Z” and “The Facts of Life.”

Dennis Etchinson – Award winning author.  Best known for his horror short stories, he has also done film adaptations (often under pseudonyms) and served as editor for numerous anthologies.

Jean Simmons – Golden Globe winning and Academy Award nominated actress.  Films include “Hamlet”, “Guys and Dolls”, and “Spartacus.”  She also won an Emmy Award for her work in “The Thorn Birds.”

Norman Corwin – Award-winning writer, producer, and screenwriter.  Corwin did extensive work in radio, and Ray Bradbury credits him with getting “The Martian Chronicles” published.  Also had a character in “Babylon 5” named after him.

Karl Malden – Academy Award winning actor, recognized as one of the great character actors.  Known for films such as “On the Waterfront”, “A Streetcar Named Desire”, “Patton”, and the TV series “The Streets of San Francisco.”

Rod Steiger – Academy Award winning actor.  Films include “In the Heat of the Night”, “Dr. Zhivago”, “Across the Bridge”, and “Al Capone.”

Roman Polanski – Academy Award winning director.  Known for films such as “Tess”, “The Pianist”, “Rosemary’s Baby”, “Chinatown”, and “The Ghost Writer.”

Faye Dunaway – Academy Award, Golden Globe, and Emmy winning actress.  Best known for “Bonnie and Clyde”, “Chinatown”, “Three Days of the Condor”, “Eyes of Laura Mars”, “Barfly”, and “Network.”

Ramsay Campbell – Award winning English writer and critic.  Best known for his horror writing, both novels and short stories.  Also edited numerous horror anthologies.

Brian Cox – Emmy Award winning and Golden Globe nominated actor.  Best known for his work in “Braveheart”, “The Bourne Identity”, “Rob Roy”, “Red”, “Adaptation”, and “Zodiac.”

John Milius – Academy Award nominated screenwriter, director, and producer.  Best known for his work on films such as “Dirty Harry”, “Jeremiah Johnson”, “Magnum Force”, “The Wind and the Lion”, “Conan the Barbarian”, and “Red Dawn.”

Charles Champlin – Film critic and writer.  Wrote for Time, Life, and the Los Angeles Times.  Also hosted the PBS show “Film Odyssey.”

Richard C. Matheson – American writer and director, best known for his horror writing, including over 100 short stories.  His collection “Dystopia” was a #1 bestseller.

S.L. Stebel – Sydney Stebel was an American writer and creative writing teacher, associated with Ray Bradbury.

Bertrand Tavernier – Academy Award nominated French director, screenwriter, and producer.  Among his films are “Coup de Torchon”, “A Sunday in the Country”, “Round Midnight”, and “The Clockmaker.”

Steve Rasnic Tem – Award winning author and editor.  Novels include “Daughters” and “Ubo.”  His collections include “Celestial Inventory” and “The Far Side of the Lake.”

Kenneth Turan – American film critic.  Writes for the Los Angeles Times, and is often heard on NPR’s “Morning Edition.”

Ronald Neame – Academy Award nominated producer, director, screenwriter, and cinematographer.  His writing credits include adaptations of “Great Expectations” and “Oliver Twist.”  Among his directing credits are films including “The Poseidon Adventure”, “Tunes of Glory”, “Hopscotch”, and the musical “Scrooge.”


Leather backed cloth with a hard slipcase (which allows the One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest Photo to show through when the volume is placed inside).  Faults listed above, otherwise clean pages and good binding.
