This is practically a "primitive" mechanical version of a Boost converter!
This is a strange circuit & is very efective!
I have put in series the transformer the DC motor and the reed switch to close the circuit.
Also the first pin the phase 'hot line' of the transformer is connected with the first screw of the led bulb,
the second screw of the led bulb is connected with the first pin of the reed switch (that is connected with the motor)
and the second pin of the transformer is connected with the second pin of the reed switch
(that is connected with the battery) the negative of the circuit.
This shows how useful back EMF can be, is the electromotive force that opposes the change in current which induced it.
