Original 1730s black and white copper-plate engraving depicting the harvesting of an Achiote tree, best known as the source of annatto, a natural orange-red condiment, food coloring and dye.  Engraved by Antonio Faldoni (1689 – 1770), an Italian painter and engraver.  Printed on laid paper with a visible watermark when held to light.  Strong impression.
