Cat’s Claw also known as, Uncaria Tomentosa, is a plant that grows in the tropical jungles of South America and is called Cat’s Claw because its thorns are cat-shaped.

Cat’s Claw, is a medicinal plant traditionally used by the natives of Peru and Brazil. It is the second plant after cinchona which attracted the interest of herbalists and became one of the most popular herbs in the United States. The parts of the plant used for therapeutic purposes are the root and the bark. Isolated substances are alkaloids, glycosides, proanthocyanidins and β-sterols. These substances give the plant many healing properties.
Cat's Claw can help boost the immune system and neutralize free radicals. It is also used as an anti-inflammatory for osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, as well as in inflammations of the digestive tract, such as gastritis, colitis and hemorrhoids.
